June 2009 - The Swipes will record their 1. Album!
In July the Swipes will enter the studio to record new stuff. The big target: the 1. full-length album full of beat, punkrock, ska and garage. But also new concerts are fixed in summer. Don't miss our next gigs in Frankfurt and Niederweimar...!

Watch out! Here is the new Swipes clip. Of course it's just DIY - but we enjoy the result. Most of the live performance was shooted at the Open Ernstival 2008 near Frankfurt.

Januar 2009 - Twice in Somojo's Top ten of 2008!
Our songs Silent Alarm and All That You Can Do are ranking in 2008's Top Ten on Somojo, the British platform for unsigned and independent artists.
October 2008 - Airplay on several radios!
ON THE AIR: Hesse's largest radio station Hessischer Rundfunk selected our song SILENT ALARM for its "Soundcheck" show, broadcasted on its youth channel HR YouFM.
Furthermore, songs of The Swipes are being played by several webradios - amongst them, with heavy rotation, the Bavarian GRUNDFUNK.net and NSR 2 from North Rhine-Westphalia, Somojo Radio & GBOB (U. K.) and Musicpower.tv (USA/Mexico).
FOUR TIMES NO. 1 IN MOM CHARTS: This year The Swipes scored a quadruple of No. 1 positions on MyOwnMusic, one of the most frequented German artist portals. Our song NIGHTHAWK headed the rock'n'roll charts, the song ALL THAT YOU CAN DO led the indie rankings, and THE WORLD DOESN'T NEED US was on top in both of them.
July 2008 - We became featured!
THREE TIMES FEATURED / ON TOP IN REGGAE + RNR LISTS:
At the beginning of July 2008 The Swipes became featured artist on the international artist portal BeSonic (where we led the reggae and the rock'n'roll popularity lists at that time). A quote from a BeSonic editor's review: "The Swipes do what is necessary to make it fun and not boring. Absolutely on the safe side in the matter of taste!"
In May 2008 we'd also been featured on the welcome site of Germany's leading artist portal Regioactive - with "Going Nowhere" as editor's pick.
Addition: In November 2008 we've also been featured artist on Somojo (U.K.).

PORTRAIT IN NEWSPAPER:
A portrait story about us has appeared in the culture section of the Frankfurter Neue Presse, a quality newspaper with a six-digit circulation. The author called The Swipes "one of the currently most interesting bands in Frankfurt". It's a five columns article, published on June 30, 2008.
